A warm welcome to all new members, and welcome back to those returning. To help those who are unfamiliar with our race meets, the Club has put together a short video that covers:
- How to submit a race entry
- What to do and where to go when you arrive at the pool
- Knowing when it is your turn to race
- Starting and finishing a race
- And, how to see your results

Race Entries
There are only a few days to go until the start of our racing season on Saturday, 11 October 2025. Setup starts from 6:30am, for a 7am racing start!
Race entries are now open for our first meet and most of the season, so feel free to submit as many entries in advance as you like.
If you need to make any changes to your entries or have questions about upcoming meets, please email swimming@pm.org.au.
Rule Book
We encourage all members to read this season’s Club Rule Book, which outlines how our race meets are conducted and includes the schedule of Club racing and social events.
If you’d like to purchase a printed copy, please contact Paolo Forlani, our Club Treasurer, at treasurer@pm.org.au as soon as possible.
The price of the book is dependent on the total number of print requests received. For instance, if only one person wishes to purchase a rule book, they will pay $24. Alternatively, if 26 people wish to purchase a book, the price is $7 per book for each of those members.
Number of Copies | Price Per Unit |
1 to 9 | $24 |
10 to 19 | $12 |

Club Info Booth
Thank you to everyone who has been involved in helping the Club run an information booth in the foyer of PAC over the last month. Your efforts mean that we are welcoming many new faces to the Club this year!
Parramatta Memorial Swimming Club would not be where it is today without the amazing support from its members.
Child Safety and Working with Children Checks
Parramatta Memorial Swimming Club is proud to provide a safe, welcoming space for all members, especially our young swimmers. We follow the Swimming Australia National Integrity Framework, which includes the Safeguarding Children and Young People and Member Protection policies.
All Committee members and qualified officials are required to hold a Working With Children Check (WWCC), and we encourage every adult member to get one too. It’s free for volunteers through Service NSW, and once approved, you can upload it to Swim Central so it’s on record with the Club.
If you have any questions or matters relating to member protection or child safety, Mary McKenzie, our Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO), is here to help. You can catch her on pool deck or email mpio@pm.org.au.

Social Events Calendar
Our social calendar kicks off on Saturday, 1 November 2025 with a Welcome to the Season Morning Tea from 9:00–10:00am after our race meet. All members are invited to bring a plate of food to share.
This is just the beginning, with Charlotte Wynn, our Social Coordinator, planning a jam-packed calendar of social events for the season ahead. The list of planned events can be found here.
To help with planning, please email social@pm.org.au if you plan to attend any of the events. Knowing who’s coming helps us prepare and make sure everything runs smoothly.
Become a Qualified Official!
Our swim meets simply wouldn’t be possible without our volunteer officials — including timekeepers, starters, referees, and others who help ensure fair and accurate racing.
Any member can help out at our Club-only meets, but to officiate in an official capacity, members are encouraged to complete Swimming NSW accreditation. Training is free and flexible, starting with an online module, followed by a practical assessment.
Having qualified officials within our Club allows us to run qualifying meets, where swimmers’ times can be officially recognised and used to enter external competitions. Without accredited officials, these results remain “Club-only” and can’t be used beyond our meets.
Becoming an accredited official is also a great way to get involved beyond the Club. Once qualified, you can volunteer at external meets and championships, building your skills and being part of the wider swimming community.
For parents, officiating is one of the best ways to support your child’s swimming journey, contribute to the Club, and gain a deeper understanding of how our sport works.
If you’re interested, have a chat to Enzo Forlani, our Metro North West Delegate (NorthWestDelegate@pm.org.au), who can guide you through the process and help you get started.
